Sec. Kerry just signed the Arms Trade Treaty at the #UN #ATT
Secretary of State John Kerry signed the UN Arms Trade Treaty regulating the $70 billion international conventional arms business Tuesday.
Kerry told reporters that the treaty would be a 'significant step' towards making the world a safer place. He told reporters that the arms treaty was designed to keep weapons out of the hands of terrorists and keep the United States 'safe and strong.'
He added that the arms trade treaty "does not diminish anyone's freedom." Reuters reported Tuesday that signing the treaty would potentially 'put the Obama administration at odds with the powerful American gun lobby.'
